Blocking Routine

1.Twin knife hand guarding block, step forward inverted chop at neck level while other hand is over forehead

2.Back stance low block, fold hands by ear, grab neck and knee

3.Twin stick block, jump spin knife hand guarding block

4.Augmented block in front stance, pivot on left foot, move to horse riding stance and right inside block, back fist with right hand

5.Stepping forward double palm strike

Kicking Routine

1.Low knife hand guarding block, 360 degree jump side kick

2.Jump front leg front kick, back leg round kick

3.Jump back leg round kick and land in front

Weapons Defenses

1.Knife attack to chest: Move to side away from opponent's lead leg, grab wrist and twist arm behind opponent's back

2.Knife attack to the head: X-block, grab opponent's wrist and twist and drive knife into opponent's body

3.Knife attack to midsection: Grab opponent's wrist, reach under armpit, grab opponent's shoulder and flip

Kicking Defenses

1.Side kick: Augmented block, reach hand behind neck and elbow face

2.Inside-out crescent kick: Push block leg while moving to side, side kick

One Steps

1.Front kick low, round kick high, opposite leg for each, kick simultaneously (both sides)

2.Inside-out crescent kick, opposite leg outside-in crescent kick, double punch (both sides)

3.Jump up hook kick

4.Hand up in X-block (right hand on top), left foot step out, right leg side kick, armpit, then knee, behind knee for takedown

5.Hands held behind head (knife hands), step back to back stance, knife hand guarding block low, 360 degree side kick

Weapons Form

Students must perform a weapons form with twenty to thirty movements. Weapons of choice are nunchaku, sword, and staff.

Students must create their own movements based on what they have learned.

Breaking Technique

1.360 degree side kick into two boards

2.Punch through two boards

Form

CHUNG MU: 30 MOVEMENTS, NAMED AFTER YI SUN SIN, A GREAT ADMIRAL OT THE YI DYNASTY WHO INVENTED THE FIRST ARMORED BATTLESHIP IN 1592 AD. THE LAST MOVEMENT ENDS WITH A LEFT ARM PUNCH, AND SYMBOLIZES HIS IRREGRETABLE DEATH IN BATTLE BEFORE HE WAS ABLE TO SHOW HIS LOYALTY TO THE KING.
